About Us
Children are not only beneficiaries of change - they are partners in shaping it.
Founded by Sixuan Liu, the International Child Participation & Climate Education Association (ICPCEA) is an Australian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to advancing children's meaningful participation and building a future where every child has the opportunity to be heard, respected and involved in decisions that affect their lives.
The Association originated from an initiative developed through the Global Shapers Community Chengdu Hub, where its founding vision was shaped by youth leadership, social innovation and international collaboration.
We believe that children already have a voice. Our responsibility is to listen and to create the conditions where their ideas can grow into action.
Our work brings together child participation, climate and ocean education, research, and international collaboration. Through evidence-informed programmes, community partnerships and child-centred initiatives, we empower children to explore the world around them, care for their communities and contribute to solutions for local and global challenges.
Guided by the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, we work alongside children, educators, researchers, schools, communities and partners to ensure that children's perspectives are not only heard, but meaningfully reflected in education, policy and practice.
At ICPCEA, we believe that meaningful change begins with listening.
